Remember the feeling when you found out you were going to have a child, it was a rush of many emotions, happiness, scared, overwhelmed but the most important telling your spouse that you were going to have a child together. However, when the child came into your life, as a couple, you figured out what you needed to do to care and provide for the child, no instructions were provided. Over the years, you and your spouse/partner tried to implement structure, discipline and guidance but at times it was difficult to find out what was the correct method for you and your family. The conversational flashcards for parents were created by a parent who like you did not receive any instructions when our children were born and needed to figure out what and how to do things. Our children are our greatest joy but at the same time is the reason why parents argue the most. Why?? Because as parents we want to do our best but sometimes do not know how to do it, we have different opinions and methods of doing things. The conversational flashcards for parents are questions which you can discuss with your spouse/partner in order to determine what is important for you and your family. By discussing issues related on how we were raised, and how we view different issues related to discipline and structure, you and your partner/spouse are going to be able to create a structure and discipline which is appropriate for you and your family. There are no right or wrong answers, this is a tool for you and your spouse/partner to discover and discuss past and present circumstances which have shaped you and your partner now as adult and parents. As parents we want to do our best, but we need tools and materials which can help us in this journey of parenting.
